Plain-language summary, not a substitute for the terms below: the site is free to browse, the game is in development and will change, don't break the site or take our art, and we'll email you only if you ask us to.

1. Who we are

This site is operated by Barely Playable Games (“we”, “us”). Blade Baes is a working title for a game in development. Contact: hello@bladebaes.com.

2. Accepting these terms

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. We may update these terms as the project develops; the “last updated” date above will change when we do, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised terms.

3. The game is in development

Blade Baes is pre-release. Characters, mechanics, class names, artwork, roadmap dates and the game's title itself are all subject to change or removal without notice. Nothing on this site is a promise that a particular feature, character or release date will ship. Alpha builds are provided as-is and may contain bugs, may lose progress, and may be taken offline at any time.

4. Age

The site is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. All playable characters are adults. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, please ask a parent or guardian before submitting your email address to us.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or its data;
• scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site beyond ordinary browsing;
• submit anyone else's email address to our signup form;
• use the site in a way that disrupts it for other people, or breaks any applicable law.

6. Our content

All artwork, characters, logos, copy, game design and code on this site belong to Barely Playable Games or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may share links to the site, and you may use screenshots and key art from our press kit to cover, review or stream the game, including monetised coverage. You may not resell our assets, present them as your own, use them to imply we endorse something, or train generative models on them.

7. Your content

If you send us feedback, bug reports or suggestions, you allow us to use them to develop the game without owing you compensation or credit. Don't send us anything you consider confidential or that you don't have the right to share.

8. Third-party links and services

The site links to services we don't control, including itch.io, Patreon and social platforms. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them, not ours.

9. AI disclosure

Blade Baes is human-directed and AI-assisted. See the AI disclosure in our FAQ for what that means in practice.

10. No warranty

The site and any pre-release builds are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or loss arising from your use of or inability to use the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Barely Playable Games is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the country where you live.
